In reaction to the light flooding the perimeter rooms, the apartment is organized around a darkened central circulation corridor with brightened rooms spilling out from the core. The resulting contrast between the open views of the rooms and the insulated nature of the hallway focuses attention on the beauty of the downtown views, while leaving a sense of mystery to the center. Passage from room to room requires passing through the central corridor, continually reinforcing the contrast between interior and exterior.
"At that precise moment both of them notice that it is dawn already, and then they go out on to the terrace of the house to see the sun rise."
