Lincoln Towers
Secaucus, NJ
completed 1975
Lincoln Towers is a Secaucus Housing Authority initiated project. The HUD sponsored, 17-story high rise, senior housing building was an effective combination of visually striking moments with physically comforting spaces, all built under strict federal guidelines regulating cost-efficiency in materials and construction. Both Architectural Record and the New York Post hailed Lincoln Towers for its use of natural light, bold colors and differing facades.
"Looking up he saw before him a tall white tower, standing alone on a high ridge. A great desire came over him to climb the tower and see the Sea."
—Tolkien, J.R.R. The Fellowship of the Ring. 119.
